Who is Miss Universe UAE, Maryam Mohammed?

For the first time in the history of the United Arab Emirates, a young woman is going to represent the country in the Miss Universe competition. 26-year-old Maryam Mohammed has been selected as Miss Universe UAE 2025 after a rigorous selection process. The global beauty pageant will be held in Thailand next month.

Maryam said, “The UAE has taught me to dream big. I want to be the voice of women who are ambitious, curious and determined. Miss Universe UAE is not just a beauty pageant, it is a platform to create impact.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Sydney in Australia, she is currently studying fashion design at ESMOD Dubai. She is a student, designer and social worker at the same time. Her goal is to reduce poverty and empower women in the world.

Mariam has already designed sustainable fashion and participated in various humanitarian initiatives—such as Ramadan Aman and The Giving Family Initiative. She has also represented the UAE at the International Women’s Entrepreneurship Program.

Her hobbies also include a unique blend of tradition and modernity—from falconry and camel riding to sustainable fashion and global cultural exchange. “My country is both respectful of its heritage and forward-looking. I want to show the world this balance,” Mariam said.

Mariam is the second Miss Universe UAE to be crowned. Kosovo-born and long-time Dubai-based model Emilia Dobreva previously represented the UAE in 2024.

According to the Miss Universe UAE authorities, “Mariam will showcase the UAE’s story of empowerment, sustainable development and innovation on the world stage, proving that Emirati women are not just bearers of tradition, but also leaders of the future.”

In this year’s competition, held in Thailand, Mariam Mohammed is set to become a symbol of hope and aspirations not only for herself but for women across the United Arab Emirates.
