Bollywood's popular star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have taken strict action due to the spread of offensive videos created by Artificial Intelligence (AI). They have taken legal action against video sharing platforms YouTube and Google.
According to Indian media reports, Abhishek and Aishwarya have demanded $450,000 (54.764 crore in Bangladeshi currency) in compensation from Google and other platforms. At the same time, they have demanded a permanent ban on sharing fake videos.
The case contains multiple links and screenshots of the allegations, where the YouTube video shows horrific fictional sexually provocative scenes about them using artificial intelligence.
The star couple told the court that several videos were found on YouTube, in which their images and voices were used to portray false, misleading and defamatory scenes. This is not only damaging their reputation but also a serious violation of their fundamental right to privacy.
Abhishek and Aishwarya argued that artificial intelligence platforms are trained on such biased content, which portrays them negatively. As a result, artificial intelligence models can learn such bad things and because of this, it spreads easily.
Earlier last month, the Delhi High Court had asked Google's lawyer to file a written response before the next hearing on January 15.
