Gold price increased by 2,216 taka in one go, how much is a bhori?

Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of gold in the country again at the beginning of the new year. The new price of a 22-carat bhori has been increased by 2,216 taka in one go and has been set at 224,940 taka.

The price reduction was announced in a notification by BAJUS on Sunday (January 4) night. The new price will be effective from Monday (January 5). Earlier, BAJUS had last adjusted the price of gold in the country's market on Thursday (January 1). On that day, the price of a 22-carat bhori was reduced by 1,458 taka and the price of a 22-carat bhori was set at 222,724 taka.

According to the new price, currently the price of a 22-carat bhori (11.664 grams) of gold in the country will be 224,940 taka. In addition, the price of gold per 21-carat bhori will be 214,734 taka, 184,058 taka per 18-carat bhori and 153,323 taka per bhori of traditional method.

In total, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) adjusted the price of gold in the country's market in two phases at the beginning of the new year. In one of these phases, the price of gold was reduced, but in the second phase, the price of gold was increased. Previously, in the recently concluded 2025, the price of gold was adjusted a total of 93 times in the country's market. Of these, the price was increased 64 times. And last year, the price of gold was reduced only 29 times.
