No chance of no election: Army Chief

Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman said, everyone is interested in holding a fair election. Election Commission, government, administration, police, army, air force and navy - everyone is committed to this. Therefore, there is no chance of no election. He said these things at a meeting on Tuesday (February 3).
He expressed his fear that some money transactions or 'money transactions' could take place through channels like bKash to influence the election. We have spoken to the Election Commission in this regard.
The Army Chief said, there may be some criminals in each constituency who can commit misdeeds like ballot snatching or 'rigging' on Election Day and preventing voters from going to polling stations. We hope that our forces will take strict action against them.
He further said, you will have to take the necessary action, either detention or case, depending on the crime. The meeting discussed inter-institutional coordination and overall security management to ensure a peaceful, impartial and fair conduct of the upcoming national elections.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Army Chief visited Mymensingh on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026. During this time, he emphasized professionalism, discipline and citizen-friendly behavior to ensure a peaceful, impartial and fair conduct of the elections and referendum. He also spoke about ensuring inter-institutional coordination and overall security management around the elections.
During the visit, he participated in a view exchange meeting with senior military officers, various law enforcement agencies and civil administration officials at the conference room of the Mymensingh City Corporation.
The issues of security planning, impartiality in the performance of duties and inter-institutional coordination surrounding the National Parliament elections were discussed in the view exchange meeting. During this time, the Army Chief laid special emphasis on performing duties with professionalism, patience and discipline. He also inspected the activities of the army personnel deployed under the 'In Aid to the Civil Power' and gave necessary directions.
