A court has sent Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to jail along with his wife Bithi in a case of torturing an 11-year-old child domestic worker. The court issued the order on Monday (February 2).

The other two accused in the case are – Rupali Khatun and Mosha. Sufia Begum, two other domestic workers of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman's house. The court has also ordered them to be sent to jail.

Earlier, he was arrested from his house in Uttara-9 Sector area of ​​the capital on Sunday night. It is alleged that a child domestic worker works in Shafiqur Rahman's house. He had been beating the domestic worker for a long time. The police arrested him after the family of the child filed a case with the police station.

In this context, Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Rafiq Ahmed said that the Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh has been arrested and sent to court in a case under the Child Abuse Prevention Act.
