Iran’s plan to create another ’October 7’ in Israel

Iran is preparing a major simultaneous attack on Israel with allies and armed groups. The plan is similar to the October 7, 2023 attack, but this time it aims to attack from multiple fronts simultaneously. This information has emerged from an Israeli intelligence report. 

According to a report in the Jerusalem Post, Iran is trying to bring together various groups in the so-called "Axis of Resistance," a group of its regional allies, including Lebanon's Hezbollah, Yemen's Houthis, Gaza-based Hamas, and pro-Iranian armed groups in Iraq and Syria. 

Israeli intelligence claims that while Hamas launched a major attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, neither Hezbollah nor Iran launched a full-scale operation at the same time.

Hamas documents recovered from Gaza show that then-Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar planned a larger regional war. He hoped that if Hamas' initial attacks were successful, Iran and Hezbollah would also be directly involved in a larger war.

However, according to various assessments by the United States and Israel, Iran and Hezbollah were not aware of the detailed plans for the October 7 attack or the specific date of the attack in advance, and as a result, their response that day was limited and isolated.

Planning a joint attack this time?

Israeli intelligence claims that Iran is now planning a coordinated multi-front attack to overcome this lack of coordination.

The plan envisions Hezbollah, the Houthis, and various pro-Iranian armed groups in Iraq launching operations against Israel on the same day or at the same time. That is, the goal is to create simultaneous pressure from the start, rather than dragging other parties into the war after an attack in one region.

The Israeli Defense Forces also reported that new contacts and coordination are increasing between Hamas and Hezbollah with Iranian support.

They also claimed that through this, efforts are being made to increase pressure on Israel from both the south and the north. 

 Iran's Quds Force activity  is increasing

According to the report, senior officials from the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have discussed the expansion of the offensive in meetings and online conferences with Hezbollah, Houthi and Iraqi militia commanders.

In addition, military and personal contacts between the groups have become closer, and incidents of joint training have also been identified, the report claims.

The Israeli intelligence report also noted that Iran is also trying to rebuild its own military capabilities, which were damaged by previous US and Israeli aggressions. 

However, there has been no independently confirmed announcement from Iran or related groups regarding these plans.
