How the November US election could turn the tide of the Iran conflict

The midterm elections for Congress in the United States are scheduled to be held on November 3. The ongoing war between Iran and the United States is now facing a great deal of uncertainty over this vote. 

President Donald Trump's top advisers are trying to prevent this fight from escalating into a full-blown war before the election, as Trump's Republican Party is narrowly ahead in the US House of Representatives. If the fight intensifies, there is a risk of losing even that small majority.

In an effort to avoid war before the vote, the Trump administration has now opted to increase economic pressure on Iran rather than resort to direct missiles or strikes. Washington has imposed a series of tough sanctions to prevent Iran from making money from selling oil and has blocked shipping routes near the Strait of Hormuz. But even that has not stopped the bloodshed completely. 

Four civilians, including children, were killed in a US strike on a wedding party in southern Iran recently. However, US Vice President JD Vance tried to play down the issue and claimed that the situation was now largely under control.

This war is becoming increasingly unpopular with the American people. The price of diesel in the United States itself has reached a record high due to the increase in the price of fuel oil in the international market. As a result, the price of everyday food and goods has skyrocketed. Under Trump, who promised to reduce the cost of living and avoid war, people are gasping for breath due to inflation. 

Recent polls show that about 63 percent of the country opposes the war, and Trump's popularity has fallen significantly. The opposition Democratic Party has made the issue of inflation and the war a major election tool.

How calm the situation will be, even if the United States wants it to be, depends entirely on Iran's decision. According to military experts, Iran understands that Trump may be waiting for the election to resolve the problems and will launch a new major attack once the vote is over. Therefore, Tehran may benefit if they escalate the conflict before the election. If they can create a crisis in the oil market by using low-cost drones or by intercepting oil ships, Trump will face the most political difficulties in the face of the election.

The outcome of the November 3rd vote will determine the future of this war. If Trump's party wins the election, they will believe that the public is in favor of war and they can launch a larger military attack on Iran. 

On the other hand, if the opposition party wins the election, Trump will have the power to reduce the war budget. However, analysts warn that if Trump loses power or control and is cornered, he may make even more reckless decisions, which will plunge the whole world into a new crisis.
