US preparing for ground attack in Latin America

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that they are planning to launch a direct ground attack to destroy drug traffickers in Latin America. He gave this strong message while inspecting a military exercise in Panama.

Earlier, the US used to conduct airstrikes on suspected drug-carrying boats at sea. This time, they will also conduct land raids with Ecuador, Colombia and other allied countries. Hegseth made it clear that drug traffickers are enemies of America just like ISIS or Al Qaeda. Therefore, the US government is determined to completely destroy them.

19 countries have joined hands with the US in this anti-drug operation. However, although major drug cartels have bases in Mexico, they are not in this alliance. It is worth noting that at least 215 people were killed in US airstrikes at sea last year.

Although human rights organizations strongly criticized the attack, the US Secretary of Defense has stated his firm stance in favor of continuing these tough measures.
