Reckless truck drags toll plaza worker along with 2 cars

A horrific accident occurred at a toll plaza in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, India. A speeding truck hit two cars standing at the toll booth, injuring several passengers including a toll booth worker. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed at the toll plaza.

According to a report by Indian media outlet NDTV, the accident took place at Semri Toll Plaza on the Kanpur Highway at around 2 pm on Saturday (January 17). The police said that the place falls under the jurisdiction of Moth police station.

According to the CCTV footage, two cars were stopped at the toll booth due to a malfunction in the FASTag scanner. At that time, a toll booth worker held the FASTag of one of the cars in his hand and moved forward to scan it. Just then, a truck coming at a high speed from behind hit the two parked cars.

The toll collector was thrown off the road and fell on the bonnet of a car due to the intensity of the collision. However, the truck did not stop, it dragged the two cars and the toll collector together for about 50 meters before it stopped. This sudden accident spread panic among the other workers on duty at the toll plaza.

Immediately after the accident, the injured were rescued and taken to the Moth Community Health Center. The injured toll collector identified himself as Ramakant Richaria (56). He is a resident of Urai area of ​​Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh.
