US President Donald Trump has agreed to release $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets, a senior Iranian official has claimed. This information was reported in a report by Iran's state news agency Fars on Friday (June 12).
It said that Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader, made the remarks at a memorial ceremony held in the southwestern city of Dezful. Rezaei said that the recent conflict has further strengthened Iran's position in the international arena. He claimed that the country's deterrence has reached such a level that Trump is now afraid to even talk to Tehran.
He also said that Israel's influence in US policymaking is gradually increasing. He also commented that the United States has practically become a colony of the Zionist regime due to its influence on the decision-making process through lobbying.
Before Rezaei's remarks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday that a proposed memorandum of understanding with the United States would formally end the conflict in all areas, including Lebanon, and pave the way for talks on lifting sanctions.
Meanwhile, a senior Trump administration official said on Friday that the United States expects to sign a deal to end the war with Iran in the coming days.
