US President Donald Trump has said that NATO faces a 'very bad future' if its allies fail to help the United States in the Iran war. In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump warned the Western military alliance NATO.

Trump said that NATO faces a 'very bad future' if its allies do not help open the Strait of Hormuz. Criticizing the allies of the US-led military alliance, he said, 'We have a thing called NATO.'

Trump also said, 'We have been very kind. The United States did not need to help them with Ukraine. Ukraine is thousands of miles away from us. But we helped them. Now let's see if they help us. Because I have been saying for a long time that we will be with them but they will not be with us. And I am not sure whether they will be with us or not.'

When asked specifically what kind of help he needs, Trump said, whatever is needed. He also expressed anger at the UK’s stance.

“The UK may be considered the number one ally, the longest-standing partner, etc., but when I asked them to come, they didn’t want to come,” Trump said.

“And when we basically eliminated Iran’s dangerous capability, they said, ‘Oh, well, we’ll send two ships,’” Trump added. “I said, ‘We need these ships before we win, not after we win.’” I’ve been saying for a long time that NATO is a one-way street.”

Trump also told the Financial Times that he may postpone his scheduled summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this month in an effort to pressure the Chinese government to open up this vital waterway.

Trump’s argument is that it is only in the best interest of those who benefit from the strait to help ensure that nothing bad happens there.
