Tokyo-bound plane suffers engine failure, catches fire

The left engine failed and a part of the plane caught fire.
A United Airlines plane bound for Tokyo crashed while taking off from Dulles International Airport in Virginia, USA. The plane's engine failed and caught fire. Fortunately, the plane made an emergency landing. The relevant officials confirmed this information on Saturday (December 13).
ABC News reported that no one was injured in the incident and the plane later made an emergency landing safely. According to the airline, the incident occurred during the takeoff of United Flight 803 with 275 passengers and 15 crew members.
Duffy and airport officials said that the left engine failed during takeoff at 12:20 p.m. and a part of the engine cover separated and caught fire. As a result, a fire also started near the runway.
Officials said the Tokyo-bound plane had been refueling for about 16 hours before reaching an altitude of about 5,000 feet before refueling over Virginia and returning to Dulles around 1:30 p.m.
