Fifteen people were killed and many injured in a horrific attack by gunmen on Sydney's Bondi Beach in Australia. Former England cricketer and current commentator Michael Vaughan was at the scene of the attack. Vaughan shared the terrifying experience on social media X.
Vaughan is a commentator in the ongoing Ashes series between Australia and England. The 51-year-old former cricketer told how he was trapped in a restaurant in the beach area and went to safety with others. He described the whole incident as 'terrifying'.
Vaughan said, 'It was scary being trapped in a restaurant in Bondi... I'm safe at home now. But thank you very much to the emergency services and the person who (Ahmed bin Ahmed) who prevented it. My condolences to all those affected.'
Australia is 2-0 up after the first two of the five Ashes matches. The two teams will play the third Test in Adelaide on Wednesday. Meanwhile, England, Vaughan's country, has announced the eleven for that Test. It is worth noting that Bondi is one of the most beautiful and crowded beaches in Australia. It became an even more crowded place on Sunday evening. In the meantime, 15 people were killed in an attack on the Jewish community. The two attackers were father and son. One of them has already died.
