US President Donald Trump has ruled out the possibility of running for a third term in the 2028 presidential election. He said this in an interview aired on CBS News' popular program 60 Minutes on Sunday.

When host Nora O'Donnell asked if he was thinking about running for a third term, Trump said, "I don't think about it at all. But I can tell you, many people want me to run again."

When the host later asked about possible successors, including Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump said, "I like both of them. Actually, I like many of them. We have a great team - a great bench. If you want, you can run both of them together. So I don't want to talk about the election right now. That's a long time ago.

It should be noted that according to the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution, a president can serve a maximum of two terms. He cannot run for president for a third time.
