Subianto caught on ‘hot mic’ requesting meeting with Trump’s son

A private conversation between US President Donald Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at an international conference in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, aimed at establishing lasting peace in Gaza, has been caught on ‘hot mic’.

In the audio that has been circulating on social media, Prabowo can be heard asking Trump, while raising the issue of insecurity, “Can I meet with Eric?”

In response, Trump said, “I’ll have Eric call you, okay? He’s a very good guy. I’ll have him call you.”

Then Prabowo said, “We’ll find a safer place.”

In response, Trump repeated, “I’ll have Eric contact you.”

Prabowo added, “Eric or Don Jr.—whoever.”

It is worth noting that both Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. are executive vice presidents of the Trump Organization.

It is not clear whether the conversation was about a business deal or project. The Trump Organization opened a golf club in Indonesia in March this year, which was developed jointly with a local company. It also has another property in the country and a resort under construction in Bali.

The White House and the Indonesian presidential office did not respond to requests for comment.

Meanwhile, since his second term in office, Trump has been under renewed criticism over his business interests and the financial clout he has as president. However, Trump has claimed that he is not involved in the day-to-day running of the business and that his two sons, Eric and Don Jr., are now in charge.
