US President Donald Trump has never hidden his desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Yesterday, he also claimed that he resolved eight major conflicts in the world during his first and second terms—including the war in Gaza.

However, most of his claims relate to temporary ceasefires or temporary agreements, not long-term peace agreements.

While his role in the 12-day Israel-Iran war earlier this year was somewhat clear, it is questionable in other cases. For example, Trump took credit for reducing tensions between India and Pakistan, but New Delhi rejected it.

In addition, Trump could not show any effective success in the tension between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Again, many of the "comprehensive agreement" he demanded to ease tensions between Serbia and Kosovo during his first term have not been implemented.

The White House has reacted angrily to not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. Presidential spokesman Steven Cheung wrote in X-A, Trump is a true humanitarian. There is no other person with the willpower like him who can move mountains alone.

He also said that the Nobel Committee has proven that they value politics more than peace.

Incidentally, the Nobel Committee ultimately awarded the prize to Venezuelan opposition politician Maria Corina Machado. Nobel Peace Committee Chairman Jörgen Wotne-Friedens said that in its long history, the Nobel Committee has seen such campaigns and media excitement (like Trump's). In addition, the Nobel Committee receives thousands of letters every year. But the Nobel depends only on the work of the laureate and is awarded according to Alfred Nobel's will.

Also, the deadline for nominations for the Nobel Prize is January 31. This year, Trump was nominated for the Nobel Prize by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the governments of Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Rwanda and Cambodia. However, he did not receive the Nobel this time because these were submitted after the end of January. However, they will be included in the 2026 discussion. That is, Trump's name is already on the list of Nobel discussions for 2026.
