The US makes threats every day, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said.

He made the remarks at a conference with ambassadors and leaders of regional allies in the capital Caracas. However, Maduro did not directly comment on the US naval attack off the coast of Venezuela.

Nicolas Maduro said that every day there is an attempt to mislead people by spreading false news against Venezuela. The northern supremacists make threats every day. However, I think the American people are wise. They understand that this is being done with the aim of overthrowing the Venezuelan government. However, Maduro vowed to stand tall despite all obstacles.

Earlier, he had said that he could declare a state of emergency to prevent a possible US military invasion.

In a televised speech, he said that the constitutional process has begun from this moment. If the United States launches a military attack on Venezuela, we will declare a state of emergency to protect the peace and stability of the people.

Earlier, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that Maduro had already signed a decree that gives him special powers. Through this, he will be able to deploy the entire country's army and give the military the right to control the public sector and the oil industry. The decree will be valid for 90 days, which can be extended for another 90 days if necessary.
