Pakistan has described Hamas's positive response to Trump's peace plan as a "positive step".
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar wrote in a post on social media X:
"There must be a ceasefire now, end the suffering of the Palestinians and ensure the release of hostages. At the same time, there should be no obstruction to the flow of humanitarian aid. Israel must immediately stop its attacks."
The day before, Dar said that Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza was not the same as the draft proposed by Arab and Muslim countries at the UN General Assembly last month.
The new proposal announced by US and Israeli leaders has made some significant changes at the request of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to US media outlet Axios.
The report said the revised proposal links the Israeli withdrawal to the disarmament of Hamas and allows Israel to remain in a buffer zone in stages until the "terrorist threat" is completely eliminated.
