Cristiano Ronaldo has brought joy to a young fan recovering from devastating injuries sustained in the deadly earthquakes that struck Venezuela, where more than 2,500 people have been killed and thousands injured.
Among the survivors is young Andrés Mieles, who lost one of his legs and is recovering in hospital. Despite his ordeal, the boy had one simple wish—to receive an official Cristiano Ronaldo sticker.
When news of the request reached Ronaldo, the Portugal captain responded with a touching gesture. Wearing Portugal's national team shirt, the football icon recorded a personal video message for the youngster and invited him to attend one of his matches.
"Hi Andrés, how are you?" Ronaldo said in the video. "I'm sending you a big hug. I know you're a huge fan of mine, and I'm praying that you recover very soon. I'd like to invite you to one of my matches so we can enjoy it together. I can't wait to meet you. Stay strong, my friend."
According to multiple media reports, Andrés has already received the official Ronaldo sticker he wished for. A Portugal jersey signed by the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is also expected to be delivered to him.
Hospital staff captured the emotional moment as the young fan watched Ronaldo's video message on a mobile phone from his hospital bed. His broad smile in response to the surprise touched everyone present, offering a rare moment of happiness amid the tragedy.
