The Real Madrid star revealed after Brazil's 3-0 victory over Scotland that he had made a light-hearted bet with Ancelotti about scoring a goal with his head during the World Cup.

Vinicius delivered on that promise in style.

The 24-year-old scored twice against Scotland in Brazil's final Group C match, helping the five-time world champions secure top spot and advance to the knockout stage. While his first goal came after capitalising on a defensive error, it was his second strike that attracted particular attention.

Deep into first-half stoppage time, Vinicius rose above the Scottish defence to meet a cross from Bruno Guimaraes and powered a header into the net, giving Brazil a 2-0 lead before the break.

The goal completed a memorable evening for the forward and settled a friendly wager with his coach.

Speaking after being named Player of the Match, Vinicius shared the story behind the celebration.

"I promised Carlo Ancelotti that I would score a header," he said. "He told me it was almost impossible and that if I managed to do it, he would give me a gift. Now I'm waiting for that gift."

The brace took Vinicius' tally to four goals in three group-stage matches, making him one of the standout performers of the tournament so far. He has now scored in each of Brazil's group matches, becoming the first Brazilian player since 2002 to achieve that feat at a World Cup.

With Neymar only recently returning from a long injury absence, Vinicius has emerged as Brazil's most influential attacking player. Alongside his four goals, he has also contributed an assist and consistently led the team's offensive efforts.

His performances have reinforced his status as one of the favourites for the tournament's individual awards and a key figure in Brazil's quest for a sixth World Cup title.

After proving he can score with his head as well as his feet, Vinicius will undoubtedly expect Ancelotti to honour his side of the bargain. Given the importance of the goal and the form his star player is showing, the Brazil coach is unlikely to have any problem finding a suitable reward.
