After an unconvincing draw against Morocco in their opening match and a more comfortable win over Haiti, Brazil produced their most complete performance of the tournament so far against Scotland. Vinicius Junior starred with a brace, while Matheus Cunha added the third goal as the five-time world champions dominated throughout.

Brazil created numerous chances, registering 21 shots, nine of them on target, and could easily have scored more goals.

With Raphinha sidelined through injury, youngster Ryan was handed a starting role on the right wing and impressed with his energy and creativity. Bruno Guimaraes controlled the midfield, while the rest of the team delivered a disciplined performance.

Despite the convincing victory, Ancelotti believes there are aspects of Brazil's game that still require refinement.

"We are playing as a team, and that was our objective," Ancelotti said after the match. "But we are not perfect yet. There are still a few things we need to improve. We can move the ball faster when we are in possession."

"I am happy with the team's performance because we have improved since the first match. Now we are in the knockout stage, and it is important to be as close to perfect as possible."

While Brazil supporters are already dreaming of a sixth World Cup title, Ancelotti remains focused on the immediate challenges ahead.

"I have not set a target for how far we can go," he said. "It is not only about playing well; we want to win. A coach is judged by victories, not by whether his team plays well or badly."

Another major talking point from the match was the return of Neymar. The Brazilian superstar entered the game in the 76th minute, marking his first appearance for the national team since October 2023.

The 34-year-old forward played around 20 minutes and showed flashes of his quality despite the lengthy absence.

"Neymar deserved to play," Ancelotti said. "He has worked hard and trained very well. He has the quality to help the team. He only played for a short period, but he played well."

Neymar's return, combined with Vinicius' outstanding form, has heightened excitement among Brazilian fans, many of whom are already viewing Brazil as one of the leading contenders for the title.

However, Ancelotti urged supporters not to get carried away by the growing optimism.

His message was simple: "Stay calm."

With momentum building and key players finding form, Brazil appear to be peaking at the right time. Yet their experienced coach is determined to keep expectations under control as the tournament enters its decisive phase.
