JuJu Watkins Out for Season After Knee Injury

USC star JuJu Watkins will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury during Monday night’s women’s March Madness game against Mississippi State. 

The team confirmed that Watkins tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will undergo surgery before beginning rehabilitation. 

The injury occurred early in the first quarter while Watkins was on a fast break, when she became entangled with Mississippi State’s Chandler Prater. Watkins immediately went down in pain, grabbing her right knee. 

A foul was called on Prater following the play. The team has not yet officially confirmed the ACL tear, though reports from ESPN’s Shams Charania have provided details on the injury.
