Dengue claims 5 more lives, 387 hospitalized in one day

A total of 387 people have been hospitalized with dengue in the last 24 hours.

Five more people have died in the last 24 hours due to the Aedes mosquito-borne disease dengue. With them, the number of dengue deaths has increased to 409 so far this year. In addition, 387 new people have been hospitalized with the mosquito-borne disease in the last 24 hours. This information was given in the regular dengue report of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (December 14).

The Directorate General of Health Services said that a total of 4 people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours, two each in Dhaka South City Corporation and Barisal Division. In addition, one person has died of dengue in Dhaka North City Corporation during this period. On the other hand, the highest number of dengue patients (83) have been hospitalized in Dhaka Division in the last 24 hours.

In addition, in the last 24 hours, 71 people in Chittagong division, 55 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 53 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 40 in Barisal division, 33 in Khulna division, 26 in Mymensingh division, 22 in Rajshahi division and 4 in Sylhet division have been admitted to hospitals with dengue.

According to the report of the Department of Health, a total of 409 people have died of dengue from January 1 to Sunday this year. Of these, the highest number of deaths (192) occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation. In addition, during this period, in addition to 68 people in Dhaka North City Corporation, 50 people in Barisal division, 31 in Chittagong division, 24 in Mymensingh division, 20 in Rajshahi division, 13 in Khulna division, 9 in Dhaka division and 2 in Sylhet division have died of dengue.

On the other hand, a total of 1 lakh 477 people have been infected with dengue from the first day of this year to Sunday. Of these, the highest number of dengue patients have been identified in Barisal division, 21 thousand 283 people. And the fewest dengue patients were identified in Sylhet division, with 415 people.
