Bangladesh thrash Namibia by 64 runs, enters Super Six

Bangladesh's path to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup is bright. Today, Thursday, Bangladesh women defeated Namibia. After batting first, they scored 144 runs and crushed Namibia by just 64 runs. Nigar Sultana Jyoti's team advanced to the Super Six of the qualifiers with a huge win of 80 runs.

If Bangladesh is in the top four of the Super Six, it will make it to the Women's T20 World Cup to be held in England in June. On the way, the Tigresses won their first 3 matches. Earlier, they defeated Papua New Guinea and the United States.

Batting first at the Tribhuvan University International Stadium in Nepal, Bangladesh got a fighting capital of 144 runs in an innings of over 20 runs by four batters. Dilara Akhtar scored 25 off 17 balls, captain Jyoti scored 21 off 29 balls, Sobhana Mostari scored 27 off 23 balls and Swarna Akhtar scored 23 off 18 balls.

Then, Bangladesh bundled out Namibia for 64 runs in 17.5 overs thanks to the skill of three spinners. Only two Namibian batters (captain Sune Wittman scored 19 off 24 balls and Markzli Goraces scored 12 off 17 balls) reached double figures. Sanjida Akhtar Meghla took 4 wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs, including 1 maiden. Rabeya Khan took 3 wickets for 5 runs in 4 overs. Fahima Khatun took 3 wickets for 12 runs.
