South Africa needed 8 runs to win in the last over. Nahida Akhtar came to bowl for Bangladesh. De Clarke made the equation easier by hitting a four off the first ball of this left-arm spinner. Clarke hit a six off the third ball, but the next ball was a dot, giving the Proteas a breathtaking victory.

South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 3 wickets in the Women's One-Day World Cup match in Visakhapatnam on Monday (October 13). The Proteas surpassed the target of 233 runs set by the Tigresses with 3 balls in hand. Bangladesh's World Cup semi-final equation has become much more difficult after three consecutive losses.
