Southern cinema superstar Rajinikanth has completed 51 years in Indian cinema. He celebrated this milestone in his acting career on August 15. At this time, on the sets of his new film 'Dharaman', director Ashwath Marimuthu and the film's actors and crew cut a cake to celebrate 51 years of Rajinikanth's colorful film career.

How Rajinikanth's journey began

Rajinikanth made his acting debut on August 15, 1975, with the film 'Apurva Raagangal' starring Kamal Haasan. Initially, he played supporting roles and villains, but gradually established himself as a lead actor.

In a career spanning more than five decades, he has become one of the most influential and popular stars in Indian cinema. Rajinikanth, known as 'Thalaiva' to his fans, has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English language films.

Apart from acting in films of different genres, his own style, dialogue delivery and screen presence have made a special impact on Indian cinema beyond the boundaries of Tamil cinema.

All the arrangements for 'Dharaman'

Rajinikanth is currently shooting for the film 'Dharaman'. This is his 173rd film. The film is directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran. The film is being produced under the banners of Raj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media.

Simran Bagga, Raashi Khanna and Yogi Babu are acting alongside Rajinikanth. In addition to directing, Ashwath Marimuthu is also acting in the film. Simran had earlier acted with Rajinikanth in the film 'Petta'. They are returning to the screen together again with the new film.

The music and background score of the film are being directed by Aniruddha Ravichander. Nikhet Bommireddy is in charge of the cinematography and Pradeep E. Raghav is editing. The action scenes are being directed by the Anbari duo. The second phase of the film has also started recently.

Then ‘Jailer 2’

After completing the work on ‘Dharaman’, Rajinikanth will be seen in the movie ‘Jailer 2’. Directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar, this action-oriented film is expected to feature Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, S. J. Suryah and Suraj Venjaramudu in important roles.

Mohanlal and Shiv Rajkumar, who played guest roles in the first ‘Jailer’ movie, may also return in the second installment in the same way. Apart from this, there are rumors that Hrithik Roshan may be seen in a special role.

According to the plans of the makers, ‘Jailer 2’ is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 15, 2026.
