Americans' views on Trump's presidency, according to a poll released ahead of the November midterm elections in the United States, show that the financial situation of most citizens in the country has deteriorated during President Donald Trump's term. The survey was conducted by London-based non-political research firm FocalData with the support of the Financial Times.

The survey results show that 53 percent of registered voters said their financial situation has worsened since Trump took office for a second term. Of these, 57 percent are independent voters and about a quarter are Republican supporters. In addition, about two-thirds of voters think the US economy is currently heading in the wrong direction, while only 25 percent think it is on the right track.

Voters expressed more confidence in Democrats than Republicans when it comes to managing inflation, the cost of living and employment. In particular, 64 percent of voters expressed dissatisfaction with Trump's actions to control inflation. Overall, 55 percent of people are dissatisfied with Trump's job performance, and his popularity has fallen by eight percentage points even among his own party, Republicans.

Asked who they will vote for in the upcoming midterm elections, 44 percent of voters support Democrats and 39 percent support Republicans. The survey analysis indicates that Democrats are in a strong position to regain control of the House of Representatives, but it may be difficult for them to gain a majority in the Senate.

Amidst public dissatisfaction with inflation and falling real wages, White House spokeswoman Kush Desai spoke in favor of Trump's job performance. She said that the government is working to reduce the cost of living for citizens by lowering drug prices, bringing jobs back to the country and cutting taxes. She also claimed that the government has made positive progress in border security and controlling crime.

This online survey was conducted from August 7 to 10 based on the opinions of 1,913 voters.
