‘Mastul’ released in the country this time

After touring several film festivals, ‘Mastul’, a film based on the story of Jahajid, has been released in theaters across the country.
The film was released in a total of five theaters in Dhaka and Narayanganj on Friday (July 17).
Producer Mohammad Nuruzzaman said that two shows will be held daily at the Bashundhara branch of Star Cineplex in the capital. One show will be at 2 pm and the other at 7:30 pm. There will also be two shows at the Cineplex Narayanganj branch every day.
In addition, the film is being released at Jamuna Blockbuster, Lions Cinema and Narayanganj Cinescope.
Recently, a ‘special screening’ of ‘Mastul’ was held at the Russian Cultural Center in Dhanmondi. People from the film, literature and cultural fields praised the content, production style and acting of the film.
The story of the movie 'Mastul' revolves around Maqbul, an elderly cook on a fuel tanker, and Nura, a street child in the port area. Through their relationship, the lives of people dependent on rivers and ports, loneliness, human tensions, power struggles and the struggle for survival emerge.
Fazlur Rahman Babu plays the role of Maqbul in the movie. In addition, Deepak Suman, Aminur Rahman Mukul, Arif Hasan and many others play important roles.
Earlier, 'Mastul' made it to the main competition section of the 47th Moscow International Film Festival last year. There, the movie won the 'Special Mention' award. After that, the movie toured several film festivals and was released in theaters across the country.
