Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has finally opened up about that horrific night. While describing the incident of being stabbed at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai in January 2025, he said that the attacker not only attacked him but also his younger son Jeh Ali Khan. In a recent interview, Saif said that the younger son, Jahangir, whom they call Jeh for short, and that late that night, the nanny who was looking after Jeh came running and said that an unknown person was standing in Jahangir's room with a knife and demanding money.
Saif said, I ran to Jeh's room. I saw the man holding the child. He stabbed my son and Jeh had a slight cut. He also hurt our maid. Now I think, if I had turned on the light in the room and talked to him calmly, then maybe the situation could have been different. But then something was chasing me and I jumped on him. Then a fight started between us. He started stabbing like crazy. There was only blood and blood everywhere. Just then, another of our maids came and pushed him away.
During the incident, Saif was stabbed six times. One of the wounds went very close to his spine. Recalling that moment, the actor said, I was wearing a white kurta-pyjama, my entire clothes were soaked in blood. At one point, I was lying on the floor. At that time, I really felt that maybe I would not live anymore.
He said that while going to the hospital, he wanted to take his eldest son Taimur with him. Taimur asked me, are you going to die? I told him, no. Then we went to the hospital together.
When asked if he could forgive the attacker, Saif said, I wanted to forgive him. I think he made a big mistake in his life. He probably didn't come to fight. I don't mind forgiving him. But I still can't forget the moment he tried to kill me. I also think that inequality in society, the gap between rich and poor, is one of the reasons for such incidents.
It is worth noting that on January 16, 2025, Saif Ali Khan's house was broken into for the purpose of theft. Three days after the incident, the Mumbai Police arrested the accused, 30-year-old Bangladeshi national Mohammad Shariful Islam, from Thane area of India.
