At this grand ceremony held early on Monday (January 12) Bangladesh time, the expected winners won awards, as well as several surprises. Social reality, politics and human stories were at the center of discussion in both the cinema and television arenas. Here is the list of winners in important categories based on the Variety report—

Cinema Category

Best Motion Picture (Drama): Hamnet. This film, based on the painful story of William Shakespeare's family life, is one of the biggest winners of the night.

Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy): One Battle After Another. This satirical film about radical politics won four awards alone.
Best Animated Film: K-Pop Demon Hunters (Netflix)
Best Foreign Language Film: The Secret Agent (Brazil)
Best Director: Paul Thomas Anderson – One Battle After Another
Best Actress (Drama): Jesse Buckley – Hamnet
Best Actor (Drama): Wagner Moura – The Secret Agent
Best Actress (Musical/Comedy): Rose Byrne – If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
Best Actor (Musical/Comedy): Timothée Chalamet – Marty Supreme
This is the first Golden Globe win for Chalamet despite being nominated four times.

Best Limited/Anthology Series: Adolescence (Netflix). The series, which follows a murder investigation captured in a single shot, won the maximum four awards.

Michelle Williams – Dying for Sex (Best Actress, Limited Series)
Owen Cooper, 16, made history as the youngest winner for his role in an adolescent series.
The show was hosted by comedian Nikki Glazer. Her humorous style was as much about Hollywood's self-indulgence as it was about political innuendo. Some stars appeared on the red carpet wearing badges with humanitarian messages. This is the first time that an award was given in the podcast category, with "Good Hang with Amy Poehler" being chosen as the best podcast.
