Bollywood star Aamir Khan recently opened up about the strained relationship with his brother Faisal Khan. In an interview, he said that creating such a distance with his family is a difficult reality of his life. This time, Aamir Khan spoke about breaking all ties with Faisal Khan.

According to NDTV, Aamir said, what else can be done? This may be my destiny. You can fight the world, but how is it possible to fight with your own family? Aamir's reaction came at a time when Faisal Khan had alleged in a podcast a few months ago that Aamir had locked him up in his Mumbai house for more than a year. That allegation created a lot of discussion and controversy in Bollywood.

Last year, in the Pinkvilla podcast, Faisal Khan claimed that he was forcibly confined to his house and that he was tried to prove that he was mentally ill. He said, I was locked up in my house for a year. It was being said that I am suffering from schizophrenia and a danger to society. I was even kept in JJ Hospital for 20 days and various tests were done there.

Immediately after Faisal's statement, Aamir Khan's family issued a joint statement. It was said that all the decisions taken around Faisal were taken as per the advice of doctors and as a joint decision of the family. The family claimed that behind these decisions there was love, compassion and concern for his mental well-being.

The statement also said that the matter is very personal and sensitive. Therefore, the media is requested not to turn this family matter into confusing or sensational gossip. This statement was signed by many family members including Aamir Khan's first wife Reena Dutta, son Junaid Khan, daughter Ira Khan.

After the family's statement, Faisal Khan publicly stated that he has severed all ties with the entire family including Aamir Khan. At the same time, he also said that he will not take any monthly allowance or financial assistance from Aamir. In a statement, Faisal said that he no longer wants to be known as a part of his parents' or brother's family and will not claim any rights to the family property.

Incidentally, Faisal Khan started his acting career as a child artist in the 1969 film 'Pyaar Ka Mausam'. Later, he played a small role in the film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'. In 2000, he came into the spotlight by playing the lead role opposite his brother Aamir Khan in the film 'Mela' directed by Dharmesh Darshan.
