All banks to remain closed on February 11 and 12

All scheduled banks in the country will remain closed on February 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum. Bangladesh Bank announced this decision on Sunday (February 1) by declaring a special holiday.
According to the instructions of Bangladesh Bank, all scheduled banks in the country will remain closed on February 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) as government holidays have been declared in the country on the occasion of the National Parliament Election and Referendum. Banking activities will be completely closed during this time and officials and employees will be on leave.
Earlier, on January 25, the government declared holidays on February 11 and 12 across the country through an election-time executive order from the Ministry of Public Administration on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum. In addition, workers and employees in industrial areas have been given a special holiday on February 10.
Incidentally, the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum will be held on February 12. The Election Commission (EC) has said that voting will continue from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on that day.
