During the first 15 days of this November, expatriates sent $152.27 million to the country. However, during this period, no remittances came into the country through 9 banks, including a state-owned bank. This information has been revealed from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank.

According to the updated report of the central bank, the number of banks that did not receive a single taka of remittance in the first 15 days of November is 9. Among them, in addition to a state-owned bank, there is a specialized bank, 2 private and 5 foreign banks.

These banks are- state-owned Bangladesh Development Bank PLC, specialized sector Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, private sector ICB Islami Bank and Padma Bank PLC.

In addition, in the first 15 days of November, expatriates did not send any remittances to the country through foreign sector banks Al-Falah, Habib Bank, National Bank of Pakistan, State Bank of India and Uri Bank.

It is worth noting that in the first 15 days of this November, expatriates sent $152.27 million to the country. At the rate of 122 taka per dollar, the amount is about 18,565 crore taka in local currency. In this way, an average of $10.5 million or about 1,221 crore taka came to the country every day.
