Bangladesh Bank buys another 107 million dollars

Bangladesh Bank has bought another 107 million US dollars through an auction. This amount of dollars was purchased from 10 commercial banks of the country. Central bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan gave this information on Thursday (October 9).
Earlier, Bangladesh Bank bought dollars in 13 separate rounds. Of these, 171 million dollars were purchased from 18 banks on July 13 at a rate of 121 taka 50 paisa. On July 15, 313 million dollars were purchased at the same rate, and on July 23, 10 million dollars were purchased at a rate of 121 taka 95 paisa.
Arif Hossain said that the supply of dollars in the market is now higher than the demand. The decision to buy dollars was taken from last July to maintain the market price in the interests of exporters and expatriates. So far, Bangladesh Bank has bought a total of 2088 million dollars. Today, Thursday, dollars were purchased through the Foreign Exchange (FX) Auction Committee of Bangladesh Bank, through the multiple price auction method. Where the exchange rate of one dollar was 121 taka 80 paisa.
On August 7, 45 million dollars were purchased at a rate of 121 taka 47 paisa to 121 taka 50 paisa, on August 10, 83 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 50 paisa, on August 14, 176.5 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 50 paisa, on August 28, 149.5 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 66 paisa to 121 taka 70 paisa, on September 2, 47.5 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 75 paisa, on September 4, 134 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 75 paisa, on September 9, 265 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 75 paisa, on September 15, 353 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 75 paisa, on September 22, 129 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 75 paisa, and on October 6, 104 million dollars at a rate of 121 taka 80 paisa.
