To rebuild Bangladesh, democracy must be established in the country, said BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the election campaign for Dhaka-17 constituency at Bhasanatek in the capital on Friday (January 23) evening.

The BNP Chairman said, the country has gone backward a lot due to the misrule of the last 15 years. We have to rebuild Bangladesh. If Bangladesh has to be rebuilt, then we must definitely establish democracy in our country. Because, if you can democratically elect your representatives, then only then can you approach them with the problems of the area.

Stating that the people are now waiting for a big change after leaving 15 years of misrule behind, he said, if the problems of the area have to be solved, if the country has to develop, then we must start the journey of democracy. We have to ensure that people can vote freely. They can elect their own representatives by voting.

Tarique Rahman said, not only in the national election, but also in the municipality-upazila-union council, people's representatives must be elected everywhere. That is, there must be accountability everywhere. And those who will be people's representatives must know what the problems of the people are. At this time, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman called some locals to the public meeting stage and listened to the basic problems of Bhashantek.

In addition to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman's wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, BNP Chairman's advisor Abdus Salam, party standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convener Aminul Haque, member secretary Mustafa Zaman and other organizational leaders were present in the election campaign for Dhaka-17 constituency in Bhashantek.
