The family of Inqilab Manch convener Shahid Sharif Osman Hadi is being given 1 crore taka from the Finance Ministry to buy a flat and another 1 crore taka from the Chief Advisor's Fund to support the family, said Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed. He gave this information at a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday (January 21).
It is learned that there is a residential building called 'Doel Tower' for government officials in Lalmatia, Dhaka. This money is being given as a grant to buy a 1,215 square foot flat in that building. The wife and children of the martyr will live in the flat purchased with the grant money.
According to sources in the Finance Department, the Ministry of Housing and Public Works recently applied to the Finance Ministry for a grant to buy a flat for the family of Sharif Osman bin Hadi. In view of that application, the Finance Department approved the proposal to provide the grant on the condition that the identity of the martyr's wife and children be confirmed.
Meanwhile, on January 15, the interim government appointed Sharif Osman Hadi's brother Omar as the second secretary at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Birmingham, UK, on a contractual basis for three years.
