Financial Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed is not willing to open his mouth on the news of purchasing 20 fighter jets from China for the Air Force for Tk 27,000 crore.

In response to questions from journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday (October 7), he said, "I will not comment on this."

Sources say that the government is purchasing 20 J-10CE multi-role combat aircraft from China at a cost of Tk 27,000 crore.

A document from the Armed Forces Department shows that the estimated cost of each aircraft is 60 million US dollars, making the price of 20 aircraft 1,200 million US dollars or Tk 14,760 crore.

Along with this, the total cost of 20 aircraft, including spare parts, some other equipment, insurance and VAT, agency commission, will be Tk 27,600 crore. It has been said that this money will be allocated from the bulk allocation in the next 10 financial years.

At noon, a journalist said to Financial Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed at the Secretariat, "You know the matter, sir." The Financial Advisor then said, "If you knew, you would have to tell me everything."
