Rescue workers have pulled a 6-year-old boy alive from under mud and debris three days after devastating floods in Nepal. The incredible event, which took place on Friday evening (August 28), has given new hope to rescuers.

The incident took place in Timure village in Nepal's Rasua district. The village was recently hit by severe flooding after the Bhote Koshi River overflowed its banks.

While searching for the missing, members of the Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) heard faint cries coming from underground. They quickly began digging.

At one point, rescue workers found the child under thick mud and debris. After safely pulling him out, he was given first aid at the APF border post in Timur.

However, when his condition deteriorated, efforts were made to take him to Kathmandu for better treatment. The helicopter flight was delayed due to bad weather and low visibility.

When the weather cleared up on Saturday, the child was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Kathmandu. He is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of specialist doctors.

The child's name has been identified as Manisha Magar. Authorities are searching for her family or relatives. Anyone who recognizes her or has any information about her family is urged to immediately inform the relevant authorities.

Video of the child's rescue went viral on social media, with many praising the rescuers' courage and efforts.One wrote, 'Respect to the APF team who did not stop searching.'Another wrote, "He was found just when all hope was lost."

Incidentally, the death toll from devastating floods and landslides in Nepal has risen to 734. According to the latest information from the country's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 2,498 people are still missing.
