The decline in the price of acidic gold has affected the price of gold in the country. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of a bhori by Tk 7,115. This has set the price of a bhori of 22 carat gold at Tk 2,40,628, including VAT.
The new price will be effective from 10 am on Saturday (August 29). Gold is being sold at the same price today, Sunday (August 30).
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) including VAT in the domestic market will be 2 lakh 40 thousand 628 taka. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold per bhori has been fixed at 2 lakh 29 thousand 781 taka, 18-carat gold per bhori at 1 lakh 97 thousand 355 taka and 1 lakh 61 thousand 996 taka per bhori of traditional gold.
Along with the price of gold, Bajus has also reduced the price of silver. According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat silver per gram has been fixed at 455 taka, 21-carat at 435 taka, 18-carat at 375 taka, and traditional silver at 285 taka.
Bajus said that the price of pure gold in the local market has decreased. As a result, considering the overall situation, a new price of gold including VAT has been determined. This price will remain effective in all jewelry establishments until further decision. However, wages are applicable according to the design of the jewelry.
