British Prime Minister May Resign!

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer may be forced to resign within the next week. This information has been reported in various media reports.
Bloomberg, citing sources in the Labor Party, reported that there is intense discussion within the party about Starmer's resignation. The main reason behind this is the controversy surrounding the appointment of Peter Mandelson as the British ambassador to the United States.
Mandelson was friends with US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Prime Minister's Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeney resigned on Sunday due to this scandal.
Bloomberg reported that many Labor Party MPs are surprised that Starmer is still in the post of Prime Minister, because he was the one who approved the appointment of Mandelson as the ambassador.
The report also said that some officials at 10 Downing Street are secretly urging cabinet members to convince Starmer to resign. Some are even considering threatening to resign themselves to hasten the Prime Minister's departure. According to a ministerial adviser, the chances of Starmer resigning next week are “fifty-fifty”.
Starmer is said to be considering bringing back his former deputy prime minister Angela Rayner to the government to maintain his position. Rayner left the cabinet last September over allegations of not paying stamp duty on the purchase of a flat in southern England. In addition, there is consideration of giving energy minister Ed Miliband a more important ministry. Earlier, Rayner and Miliband were seen as possible prime ministers if Starmer resigned.
In addition, British media have mentioned several other names as possible successors. They include Health Minister Wes Streeting, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, Defence Secretary John Healy and his deputy Alistair Cairns.
However, Starmer’s possible resignation does not mean that there will be a new general election; Instead, the Labour Party could elect a new leader through a party vote, who would take over the government. In 2022, the Conservative Party similarly changed its prime minister twice in a year—Boris Johnson and Liz Truss.
