Trump calls on all ICC members to resign

US President Donald Trump has called on all members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to resign, calling it an "out of control" institution.

He made the call in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday. 

Trump said the United States would not allow its military or anyone else to be investigated or prosecuted by an institution over which the United States has no jurisdiction.

For this reason, he called on all ICC member states to resign immediately.

Trump also criticized UN human rights agencies, saying they were criticizing US policies on transgender people and immigration enforcement instead of focusing on the real atrocities in the world.

Donald Trump has complained that the UN Human Rights Council is silent on the issue despite the "persecution of Christians" around the world.
