US orders its citizens to leave Iran immediately

Tensions are rising again around Iran. On the one hand, there is a fear of a military conflict between the United States and the country, on the other hand, there are new attacks and counterattacks in various parts of the Middle East. In such a situation, the US virtual embassy has advised US citizens to leave Iran.

The US virtual embassy in Iran advised Americans to leave on Monday (September 21). It also warned against traveling to Iran for any reason, according to a security alert posted on the embassy's website.

It said that the Iran-backed Houthis have been engaged in attacks and clashes against Saudi Arabia. These attacks have also targeted civilian airports. The US virtual embassy also warned that the ongoing military conflict could quickly escalate.

The warning comes amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States. US President Donald Trump has previously threatened to "totally obliterate" Iran. He made the threat in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.

Trump also returned to the White House from Camp David early on Saturday, saying he was still in the process of making a decision on Iran, warning that "something very big" could happen.

Amid Trump's remarks, Iran has announced preparations for a possible US airstrike. The country's military command said it had received intelligence about joint military actions by the US and several Middle Eastern countries.

Iran has also threatened to retaliate by targeting US bases, interests, and allies if attacked.

Tensions between Iran and the United States are rising. The US naval blockade on Iran has been tightened. There is also a dispute between the two countries over the important Strait of Hormuz. Iran has maintained its position on control of the strait.
