Two sailors from US warship die after landing in Thailand

After spending more than nine months at sea, the USS Abraham Lincoln, a large US warship, arrived on the coast of Thailand. The aim was for the soldiers to take a few days off and refresh themselves. But a major disaster struck as soon as they set foot on land. Two US sailors got into a fight after drinking too much alcohol in the Thai resort city of Pattaya.

A local resident reported to the police after seeing two US soldiers fighting outside a bar late on Thursday (September 4). Thai police arrived and rescued them and took them straight to the joint control room. From there, they were quickly sent back to the warship. 

According to the local administration, although the incident was not a big deal, the Thai police and the US authorities did not take any risks. They faced severe punishment for breaking the rules while walking ashore. They will now spend the rest of their five-day vacation as prisoners within the four walls of the ship.

The warship docked in Thailand after 286 days at sea on a war-related mission in Iran. Many of the service members were suffering from emotional distress from being away from their families for so long. So the US sailors were celebrating around the city for a short break. 

Local businessmen also thought that the arrival of the sailors would boost the city's economy. But these two sailors broke the rules at the beginning of their trip and ruined their vacation.
