Trump issues tougher threat to Iran after retaliatory attacks

The United States launched a surprise attack on Iran's Larak Island on Sunday night, killing and wounding several civilians, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps soldiers. Iran retaliated by attacking a US base in Jordan.

And for this retaliatory attack, US President Donald Trump has said that Iran will be attacked again. He told Fox News, "We are going to attack them very hard. The Iranians will be attacked."

Earlier, Trump posted a new post on the social media platform Truth Social, widely criticizing Iran. In it, he called Iran a "dead" country and said that Iran's armed forces no longer exist. Although he has been claiming this since the beginning of the war.

"Iran is officially a failed state. It is dead! They have no navy, no air force, no currency. They are not paying their soldiers and police. Inflation has reached 300 percent. Iran's leaders are in chaos and are not capable of representing the country," Trump wrote.

The two countries have again launched attacks and counterattacks since July last Sunday night. Although the United States has been saying for days that it will wage an economic war against Iran instead of a war of arms, the new attack shows that without a permanent ceasefire, fighting can break out at any time.

Trump also claimed in his post that Iran has killed 100,000 anti-government protesters, and that they survive by suppressing the protests.

Iran witnessed massive protests in January. According to Iranian government figures, 3,117 people, including members of the security forces, were killed during the protests. It is unclear where Trump got the 100,000 figure from, although his government had previously reported that 60,000 protesters had been killed.
