Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has bought a historic castle in Ireland. He bought the 19th century castle called 'Strankali Castle' with his wife Priscilla Chan, The Irish Times reported.

According to the report, Zuckerberg had to pay 20 million to 30 million euros to buy the castle. However, the final price has not been disclosed and the transaction has not yet been registered in the Irish property value register.

The castle, located on the banks of the Blackwater River in the Blackwater Valley in southeastern Ireland, is about 200 kilometers from Meta's international headquarters in Dublin.

A spokesperson for Zuckerberg said, “Since the international headquarters of Meta is in Ireland, Mark and his family are also excited to spend time at the castle.”

Strankali Castle was built around 1830 for former British MP John Keeley. This Gothic-style castle is about 16,000 square feet. The castle is so large that it takes about four and a half minutes to walk from its kitchen to the dining room, even at a brisk pace.

The castle was bought about 25 years ago by Michael Allen-Buckley, co-founder of private investment firm RAB Capital, and his wife Giancarla. They later sold it to Zuckerberg.

The couple said in a statement that after 25 years of caring for the historic house, they are delighted to hand it over to its new owner. They hope that Zuckerberg and his family will continue to maintain and develop the castle.
