As questions rise about the future of Iran's government, the country's exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has presented himself as an alternative leader at a right-wing conference in the United States and received strong support from the audience there.

He spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Texas on Saturday (March 28). There, he called on US President Donald Trump to move towards regime change rather than compromise with Iran.

“Can you imagine if Iran went from ‘Death to America’ to ‘God Bless America’?” he said.

He added, “President Trump is making America great again. I want to make Iran great again.”

His speech drew a standing ovation from the crowd.

Pahlavi’s comments came at a time when the US has been waging a month-long campaign against Iran. At least 1,937 people have been killed and thousands injured in Iran so far.

Reza Pahlavi is now known as a prominent opposition voice among Iranians living abroad. His supporters have carried his picture and Iran’s pre-revolutionary flag at various protests.

During his speech, some in the audience chanted “Long Live the King” also chanted slogans.

However, a section of Iranians in the diaspora have expressed concern about the US-Israeli attack and its impact on Iran's future. On the other hand, Pahlavi has taken a strong stance in favor of the attack, agreeing with the Trump administration's tough policies.

He said, "This regime must be completely removed."
