The Bangladesh football team, which lost 3-0 to Vietnam in a friendly match, received bad news in the FIFA rankings. Bangladesh has slipped one step from its previous position in the updated list. Hamza Chowdhury-Jamal Bhuiyan's team is now at number 181.
On the other hand, Vietnam, which defeated Bangladesh, has moved up five steps to number 103. The updated FIFA rankings released today, Saturday, show the ups and downs of the teams.
Some of the top ten teams have also seen fluctuations in the rankings. World champion Argentina, for example, has slipped one step to number 3. Despite defeating 115th-ranked Mauritania 2-1 in a FIFA friendly match this morning, Lionel Messi's points did not increase much. Two-time world champion France has surpassed Argentina and moved to second place. Didier Deschamps' team defeated Brazil 2-1 this week. However, Spain, which has won four of its last five matches, has maintained its top spot as usual.
England, which is in fourth place, has also remained unchanged. However, Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal has moved up one place. The team has moved up from 6th to 5th. Similarly, the Netherlands has also moved up one place to 6th. The Dutch defeated Norway 2-1 last night.
The main reason for the progress of Portugal and the Netherlands is the decline of Brazil. After losing to France, the five-time world champions have moved down two places from 5th to 7th. Carlo Ancelotti's team has fallen the most among the top teams.
However, there is no change in the rankings from 8th to 11th. These four places are occupied respectively by Morocco, Belgium, Germany and Croatia. On the other hand, Italy, which has not yet secured a World Cup, has moved up one place to 12th.
