US Central Command has said that it has already struck 6,000 targets in Iran as part of Operation Epic Fury. 60 ships and 30 minelayers have been damaged or destroyed in these strikes, the Central Command said.
According to new information released by CENTCOM on Thursday (March 12), the targets of the attacks in Iran included command centers, weapons production centers, ballistic missile bases, submarines and Iranian air defense systems.
The Israeli military has announced new airstrikes in Tehran and, citing residents there, BBC News Persian reported that the attacks continued until around 5 am.
Many pictures of the airstrike in Ararat were circulated on Friday morning. Similar reports from Karaj were also published on social media. Tehran residents said that the explosions on Friday morning were so powerful that tremors were felt far away from the site of the explosions.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has said that the war in Iran is moving very fast. Speaking at a White House event, he said that the situation in the Middle East is “moving very fast” and “going very well”.
He called Iran a “nation of terror and hate” and indicated that the country is “paying a big price now”.
