PTI announces formation of new force to free Imran Khan

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced the formation of the 'Imran Khan Release Force' to free former Prime Minister Imran Khan from prison. The aim of this organization is to create a movement to free the imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Imran Khan has been in prison since August 2023. After he was ousted from power in a vote of parliament in 2022, several cases were filed against him. He is currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted in those cases. However, Imran and his party have claimed that the cases are politically motivated.

Recently, there have been concerns about Imran Khan's health. A medical report submitted to the Supreme Court stated that he has only 15 percent vision left in his right eye. After this information was released, PTI has intensified the movement demanding Imran's release. However, the government says that the former Prime Minister is receiving the best medical facilities.

Recently, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi told reporters that the PTI leadership and Imran Khan's personal doctors are satisfied with his treatment. However, he commented that Imran's sister Aleema Khan is 'using the issue politically'.

Meanwhile, at a press conference outside the Supreme Court today (Wednesday), Imran's close aide and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that the imprisoned Imran Khan has given him the responsibility of leading a 'roadside movement'.

Announcing the formation of the 'Imran Khan Release Force', the AU Chief Minister said that this force will be officially registered and will conduct a peaceful movement. He also said that the members of this force will take oath in Peshawar immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Afridi said that the force will have a clear command structure and the PTI founder himself will decide who will get what responsibility. He stressed that all preparations will be completed before starting any movement.
