Argentine star footballer Lionel Messi's rookie card has sold for a record $1.5 million (approximately 182.5 million taka in Bangladeshi currency). It has been graded at the highest Gem Mint 10 grade by professional card grading company Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA).

The sale was completed through a new private sales network by the company called Fanatics Collect. It is the most expensive football (soccer) card ever sold.

Earlier in 2022, a 1958 Alphabolagate Pele card sold for $1.33 million.

Just a few days ago, Golden Auctions sold another PSA-10 grade Messi card in a private sale for $1.1 million, which proves how high the demand for this card is in the market.

Fanatics Collect is a private sales network that will be fully launched in August 2025. They made $8 million in revenue from 30-40 transactions in the first month. The network is designed only for buying and selling cards worth $10,000 or more, where sales are not publicly announced.
